Frank Talbott, Jr. Visiting Professorship

The Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy at the University of Virginia (https://batten.virginia.edu/) is seeking highly qualified candidates to fill the Frank Talbott, Jr. Visiting Professorship (https://batten.virginia.edu/research/visiting-scholars/talbott-visiting-professorship). Scholars in the disciplines of Economics, Political Science, or Psychology with significant national and international reputation in their field are encouraged to apply. This paid visiting professorship will run during the 2019-2020 academic year and will provide an opportunity for collaboration with Batten faculty, students and staff. The position does not include any teaching requirement, but interaction with Batten and UVA students is encouraged.

The University of Virginia's Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy was founded to develop leaders and generate new knowledge to solve the world's toughest public policy challenges. The school is home to seven faculty-led research centers on education policy, health policy, global policy, social entrepreneurship, national security policy, effective lawmaking, and leadership simulation and gaming. The faculty includes economists, political scientists and social psychologists, and their research interests include education policy, health policy, environmental issues, development economics, leadership, and issues of diversity and inclusion.

The University of Virginia is located in Charlottesville, Virginia which offers a unique combination of natural beauty, rich historical and cultural attractions, and close proximity to the nation's and the Commonwealth's capitols. Charlottesville consistently earns high marks as a desirable place to live; in recent years, it has appeared on top-ten lists of cities published by Money, Forbes, Kiplinger's, and Men's Health magazines as well as AARP and the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

Qualified candidates must have a terminal degree in their field and an exceptional record of scholarship and teaching. Appointment as a tenured faculty member at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor at another institution of higher education is also required.
