The School of Economics at the University of Maine invites applications for a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor in the area of Applied / Empirical Macroeconomics. We seek candidates with potential for high-quality scholarship, a commitment to excellent teaching, and a willingness to provide service to the university and profession. The position’s initial appointment split is 80 percent teaching and 20 percent research, with a one-course teaching reduction for the first two years. Future appointment splits will be determined using the School of Economics’ workload formula.

Responsibilities and Duties: Responsibilities include conducting and disseminating original research related to macroeconomics, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses (e.g., macroeconomics, econometrics, modeling, money and banking), and advising and mentoring students.

Qualifications-Required: Ph.D. in economics or a closely related field; excellent communication skills; and a commitment to professional development, collegiality, public service and high-quality teaching.

Qualifications-Preferred: Established record or potential for publishing in high quality journals; and teaching undergraduate and graduate economics courses (e.g., macroeconomics, econometrics, modeling, money and banking).
