Full-Time Applied Research Fellowships Available

CDC established the 2-year Steven M. Teutsch Prevention Effectiveness Fellowship to address ongoing demand in public health for rigorous health economics-based inquiry through recruitment, internal placement, and professional development of public health economists. Prevention effectiveness and public health economics assess the impact of public health policies, programs, and practices on health outcomes by determining efficacy, effectiveness, and efficiency through the use of econometric, decision, simulation, operations modeling, and analytic methods.

CDC is recruiting to fill approximately 10 fellowship positions for 2019. Applicants must have a doctoral degree in economics, health services research or related health sciences, industrial engineering, operations research, public policy, or related quantitatively-oriented fields. Doctoral degree requirements must be completed by 7/19/2019.
Starting annual salary is approximately $80,000 plus benefits. The application period is 9/4/2018 to 1/25/2019. The 2019 class begins 8/19/2019. Interested individuals apply online at: www.cdc.gov/pef. Direct questions to: PE Fellowship Program Coordinator, 404-861-3882 or PEF@cdc.gov.

All applicants receive equal consideration without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, gender, political affiliation, age, sexual orientation, or any other non-merit factors. CDC maintains a smoke-free environment.
