The Department of Economics at the University of Melbourne is the leading economics department in Australia with strong undergraduate and postgraduate programs and an outstanding group of economists and econometricians.

The Department invites applications for a continuing Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor position (equivalent to Assistant/Associate Professor in North America) from candidates specializing in any area of applied microeconomics and/or behavioural economics will be considered. Applications from candidates with the capacity to publish in leading refereed journals and provide high quality teaching, curriculum development, supervision and service at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels will be considered.

Applicants for an assistant professor level appointment should have completed, or be close to completing, a PhD from an accredited institution and should demonstrate the promise of becoming an outstanding scholar in every respect, including research and teaching.

Applicants for an associate professor level appointment will have a PhD from an accredited institution, well established track record publications in top-ranked international journals, recipient of competitive research grants and demonstrated quality as a teacher and research student supervisor.
