The Center for Primary Care and Outcomes Research (PCOR) and Center for Health Policy (CHP) at Stanford University (http://healthpolicy.fsi.stanford.edu), in conjunction with the Department of Medicine, seeks an assistant, associate, or full professor with expertise in health services research / health policy. PCOR/CHP is a multidisciplinary group with a broad research program in health policy, both domestically and internationally. PCOR is closely affiliated with Stanford's Center for Health Policy in the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies and works with multiple departments and Schools throughout the university. Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree or an M.D. with substantial research background and/or training in research. Training and expertise should be in a discipline related to health services research / health policy, such as medical decision sciences, cost-effectiveness analysis, management science, operations research, economics or health economics, disease modeling, health law, implementation science, quality of care, or organizational aspects of health care. The successful candidate is expected to develop an independent research program and to participate in the School of Medicine's training and teaching programs in health policy. Participation in clinical care in internal medicine is an option for candidates with clinical training.

The appointment will be in the University Tenure Line (UTL), Non-Tenure Line Research (NTL-R), or the Medical Center Line (MCL). The predominant criteria for appointment to the UTL are major commitments to research and teaching. The major criteria for appointment to the MCL are excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individuals is expected to fulfill. The major criterion for appointment to the Non-Tenure Line (Research) is evidence of high-level performance as a researcher for whose special knowledge a programmatic need exists. Faculty rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidates.
