Position: Assistant/Associate Professor of Economics

Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Economics; conduct research; and discharge other duties normally associated with a university faculty appointment. A commitment to conducting scholarly research directed toward peer-reviewed journal publication and related scholarly endeavors are essential.    

Qualifications: The applicant must possess an earned doctorate at the effective date of employment.

Administrative Unit: Successful candidates must be committed to working effectively with diverse student populations. Applicants are expected to describe their commitment to fostering a diverse educational environment through their research, teaching, and/or service activities.

UL Lafayette consists of nine degree-granting units: Arts, B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration, Education, Engineering, Graduate School, Liberal Arts, Nursing and Allied Health Professions, Ray P. Authement College of Sciences, and University College.

The B. I. Moody III College of Business Administration consists of four academic units in the disciplines of Accounting, Economics and Finance, Management, and Marketing and Hospitality Management. The College has an enrollment of about 2,100 students with approximately 60 full-time faculty and 20 part-time faculty. In addition, there is an average MBA enrollment of 200 students. The College and the Department of Accounting are accredited by the AACSB International.

The Department of Economics and Finance has a full-time faculty of 15 with over 350 students majoring in the disciplines of Economics, Finance, and Insurance and Risk Management. Furthermore, the Department participates in the MBA program and provides instruction as a service to the College and the University at the undergraduate level.

Salary: Competitive, depending upon qualifications and experience.
