The Department of Business and Economics, University of Southern Denmark in Odense, invites applications for one or more assistant professorship positions (fixed term) in the areas of economics, econometrics, health, and demography.

The assistant professors will be attached to CPOP - The SDU Interdisciplinary Center on Population Dynamics and will be members of the Econometrics and Economic History Group at the Department of Business and Economics in the Faculty of the Social Sciences.

Job Qualifications:
We seek applicants with a strong research potential and the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary research team counting Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Health Sciences as well as Humanities. The preferred applicants research activity is expected to focus on interdisciplinary research and to be published in best international journals. Knowledge of Danish is not required for the position. Applicants should have completed their Ph.D. in a social scientific or related discipline prior to starting.

About the Econometrics and Economic History Group:
The aim of the group is to carry out research of high international standard documented through publications in internationally distinguished journals and through presentations at top conferences.

The research of the group cover econometrics and economic history. Specific research areas include aging, demography, causality, survival analysis, mortality and health forecasting, health and health dynamics, and development and long-term growth.

Furthermore, the group hosts the Danish CT for Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE) and the Consortium for SHARE-REGLINK, which is a linkage between Danish SHARE and register data.

The group offers undergraduate and graduate courses in econometrics, statistics, economic history, health economics, demography and macroeconomics.

The appointment is for three years. We offer a uniquely ambitious research environment, good research funding and very favorable teaching loads. For the successful candidate, options for tenure will be discussed during a third-year review. Favorable tax agreements may apply to non-Danish applicants.
