The Department of Economics at the University of Kansas invites qualified instructors with a record of excellence in teaching introductory economics courses to apply to the position of lecturer/academic program associate that are expected to begin in January of 2019. The chosen candidates will join a team of dedicated educators. These positions require the lecturers to teach an average of three sections per semester, with a focus on undergraduate courses on the principles of microeconomics and macroeconomics, which involve the supervision of teaching assistants. These positions also offer the opportunity to teach other courses. Review of applications will begin on October 18, 2018 and continue as needed, to ensure a large, high quality and diverse applicants pool. The successful candidate must have appropriate authorization to work in the US before employment begins.

The Department of Economics has an internationally recognized faculty and a long tradition of excellence in undergraduate education. Our Oswald Program in Economics, which represents the undergraduate program, consists of about 350 undergraduate majors and offers students the ability to earn Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of General Studies, or Bachelor of Science degrees. Undergraduate students receive training in macroeconomics, microeconomics, and econometrics as part of their core education. Graduates of the Oswald Program in Economics are successful in industry, academia, and government. Historic Snow Hall, which houses the department, contains state-of-the-art classrooms, lecture spaces, computer labs, and other facilities.
