Retirement programs are at the heart of workers, employers, and our nations economic security. Founded in 1978, the Employee Benefit Research Institute (EBRI) is one of the most authoritative and objective sources of national data and research on these critical, complex issues.

EBRI has an immediate opening for one economist specializing in retirement research (Ph.D. preferred). Starting salary will be competitive (depending on qualifications).

Applicants should have a strong background in econometrics, applied microeconomics, labor, public, or financial economics, and an interest in applied policy‐relevant research on employee benefit issues.

Knowledge of or interest in financial services would be beneficial. EBRI is particularly interested in candidates with previous experience with the Health and Retirement Study (HRS).

Applicants should be able to demonstrate the ability to write clearly and accurately, with a minimum of editing, for both a technical and general readership. Presentation skills for a general audience are essential and the position will require interacting with the media.
