Yale School of Public Health (YSPH) seeks a Chair for the Department of Health Policy and Management (HPM). Outstanding applicants in all areas of health policy or health management are encouraged to apply. This is a position with tenure at either the Associate or Full Professor level, depending on experience. The successful candidate is expected to actively participate in teaching graduate students and to lead an active, well-funded research programin health policy or health management. He/she will have the opportunity to shape future research directions; expand existing programs in HPM; and act as a liaison with other faculty at Yale University. Resources will be available to the new Chair for hiring additional faculty with expertise in health policy and/or health management. The Yale School of Public Health has a long history of health policy and management research. HPM Faculty collaborate with faculty in Yale School of Medicine, as well as with faculty in the Yale School of Management, Yale Law School and the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Students in HPM at the masters, doctoral, and post-doctoral levels are also engaged with faculty and courses from throughout the university.

The successful candidate should have a doctoral degree with training in health policy or health management or a related field; an active research program; a record of mentoring successful academic careers; a portfolio of past research that includes interdisciplinary teams; a reputation for excellent scholarship that includes contributions to the scientific literature in health policy or health management, and a successful track record of funded research.
