The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s School of Freshwater Sciences seeks applicants for a 9-month, tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor level. The successful candidate will have a strong record of professional accomplishment in applied economics, natural resource economics, or environmental economics. He or she will also have an extensive background in applied econometrics or programming, as well as experience working on interdisciplinary issues in water resources, water policy, or ecosystem services. Other responsibilities include teaching and course development (two courses per academic year), graduate student supervision, publication in peer-reviewed journals, and cultivation of intramural support. This position is expected to work in collaboration with the Center for Water Policy.

This position requires a Ph.D. (or Ph.D. completed no later than August 2019) in agricultural economics, applied economics, environmental economics, natural resource economics, economics, or an interdisciplinary degree with a strong economics component; extensive training in quantitative techniques; a demonstrated potential to publish research results in national, regional, and international journals; and a demonstrated ability to interact and communicate with individuals from other academic disciplines, government, industry, and the general public.
