Indiana University’s School of Global and International Studies seeks a full-time tenure-track assistant professor in Chinese Economics and Trade to begin fall 2019. The position is in the School’s renowned multidisciplinary Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures. We welcome candidates who hold a Ph.D. in economics, international studies, law, political science, or sociology. Candidates must have active research agendas involving Chinese-language sources and fieldwork experience in China.

The successful candidate will hold the endowed GLP-Ming Z. Mei Chair of Chinese Economics and Trade. The teaching load is two courses per semester, and position responsibilities include teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels. This is an exciting moment to join the new and expanding School of Global and International Studies as it leads Indiana University’s international research and teaching missions. The East Asian Languages and Cultures Department is over fifty years old and has a long history of teaching across many disciplines, including such social science fields as political economy and sociology. EALC’s teaching and research missions have also benefitted since the founding of the School of Global and International Studies from increasing synergies with our allied Department of International Studies and other area studies units.
