Indiana’s state legislature (General Assembly) is seeking a Director of the Office of Fiscal and Management Analysis (OFMA). The Director will manage fiscal and project staff, provide scientific direction and ensure the quality of all work. OFMA staff are expected to use a broad range of analytical skills to provide information in a form that is nonpartisan, understandable, and useful to legislator, including meta-analysis, econometric modeling, and other statistical techniques. Preparation of revenue and expenditure analysis of proposed legislation is the primary Office function through the months of December through April. Most in-depth studies are conducted during the spring and summer with a significant number of reports due in October. The OFMA Director reports to the Executive Director of the Legislative Services Agency (LSA). Other LSA offices provides legal drafting, technology, publication, and GIS services to the General Assembly. The General Assembly prefers that an applicant have a Ph.D. or be a Ph.D. candidate in economics, statistics, computational science, public policy, public administration, business administration, or other comparable field of study and have management experience.
