Professors Joshua Angrist, David Autor, and Parag Pathak

Professors Joshua Angrist, David Autor, and Parag Pathak are seeking a Pre-Doctoral Research Fellow to support efforts to evaluate and improve education programs and policies. Research Fellows receive a two-year full-time appointment with the School Effectiveness and Inequality Initiative (SEII¬), a research lab based at the National Bureau of Economic Research and MIT Economics. Specific tasks include: constructing original research data sets, preparing data for analysis, conducting analysis in statistical packages to answer research questions, code management and project documentation, presenting results at weekly team meetings, editing scientific papers for publication, and other tasks as assigned.

The fellowship will be a full-time position located at the National Bureau of Economic Research in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Start date is flexible, with a strong preference for candidates who can begin on or before June 1, 2018.

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in economics, computer science, mathematics, statistics or a related field and strong quantitative and programming skills are required. Knowledge of Stata, Python, Matlab, and/or R and previous research experience are strongly preferred.
