Full Text of JOE Listing:

Temple University College of Education is offering a fifteen month opportunity for a quantitative researcher with a K-12 education focus to join a team of researchers engaged in rigorous research around Diverse by Design (DBD) charter schools. Funded by the Walton Family Foundation, this mixed methods study seeks to identify the impacts DBD charters on academic and non-academic outcomes and shed light on the policies and practices that explain these impacts. The primary duties of the appointee will be to assist with the impact evaluation, headed by Sarah Cordes.

The ideal candidate will have a doctoral degree in economics, sociology, public policy, education or a related field, and demonstrated proficiency in designing and conducting academically rigorous policy-related education research. Strong quantitative analytic skills and proficiency with SAS or Stata are required. Expertise in accessing, manipulating and interpreting large student-level data sets, previous experience conducting charter school lottery studies, and ability to present and communicate complex research findings are strongly preferred. The successful candidate will be well organized, comfortable working under deadlines, detail-oriented, flexible to changing priorities and have demonstrated success in completing projects on time. Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, and be able to work both independently and collaboratively.

The appointee will hold a full time, 12 month postdoctoral fellowship with benefits and the possibility of an extension for an additional 3 months, until August 31, 2019. The salary range depends on experience and qualifications.

Applications will be accepted until position is filled. Start date is negotiable. Please submit cover letter, CV, writing sample and contact information for three references to Sarah Cordes at sarah.cordes@temple.edu.
