Executive Director, Minnesota Council on Economic Education. This is a 12-month, administrative and teaching non-tenure-track academic professional appointment. The Minnesota Council on Economic Education (MCEE) is a non-profit organization (501c3) housed in the Department of Applied Economics. The mission of MCEE is to equip Minnesotans with the economic and personal financial understanding needed to succeed in today’s complex economy. MCEE accomplishes its mission by developing and delivering professional development courses and workshops for K-12 teachers, providing direct programs to K-12 students, and working with community agencies in personal finance education for adults in diverse populations. This position provides leadership of the MCEE and teaches undergraduate level courses in the Department of Applied Economics (https://www.apec.umn.edu/). The incumbent will manage the staff and operations of MCEE, work closely with the MCEE Board of Directors, and teach one to two introductory-level courses. Essential qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (M.S. or Ph.D. in economics, applied economics or economic education strongly preferred); at least eight years of relevant work experience; and prior experience managing a unit or department with complex operational functions.
