Ottawa University’s Gwartney Institute for Freedom, Justice, and Human Flourishing (GI) is seeking to fill a tenure-track (12 month) associate or assistant professor position to help lead the institute in its mission to create a unique scholarly and educational environment for the examination and study of economic freedom and social justice, and their role in the advancement of human flourishing. The central focus of the Institute will be to recognize the engagement between people and social institutions along with the economic, political, religious, and cultural factors that shape them.

The Institute will consider candidates with a doctorate in economics or finance. The candidate should ideally have a good publication record in the areas of economic freedom and/or social justice and be interested in how the Christian faith and other religions interact with those areas. This person will be an effective teacher; strong in both public speaking and writing. The Institute leader will build a national profile through social and other media, and be an expert that national news outlets will turn to for input regarding how economic freedom and/or social justice impact human flourishing.
