The Department of Urban and Environmental Engineering at Kyushu University is seeking two or three non-tenure track Assistant Professors and/or Research Associates.

Candidates with empirical, experimental, or theoretical research backgrounds are all welcome to apply. The selected candidates are expected to conduct research in one of the following areas:

• Environmental and Resource Economics
• Urban Economics
• Energy Economics
• Applied Econometrics (Labor Economics, Public Economics, Development Economics, International Economics, Agricultural Economics, Industrial Organization, or related fields)
• Civil Engineering (Sustainability, Urban Planning, Disaster Management, Transportation, Asset Management, or related fields)
• Operations Research

Eligible applicants must have sufficient Japanese and English language skills.

We offer 5-year contracts at competitive salary levels, renewable up to a maximum of 10 years. The starting date is flexible.

Screening of applications will begin February 5, 2018, and will continue until the position is filled. Online interviews will be conducted to shortlisted applicants.
