The Department of Economics in the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University invites applications for a one-year visiting position at an Assistant Professor level, with the position beginning August 2018. The appointment may have the possibility of renewal, depending upon future allocations of faculty positions. We seek a Macroeconomist working within the broad area of applied macroeconomic theory, with preference given to candidates who focus on macro-labor, development, health, or public topics.

The ideal candidate will have documented evidence of teaching effectiveness, and will be ready to contribute to teaching macroeconomics at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The total teaching load is four courses for the academic year. The teaching responsibilities for this position will include the first course in the first year Ph.D. macro sequence, as well as additional courses at the undergraduate and/or master’s level.

Applicants should have received a Ph.D. in economics prior to employment. Applicants should provide a CV, three reference letters, and a writing sample. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States. At the time of offer a background check will be required. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, but to receive full consideration, complete applications must be received by February 9th.
