Senior Lecturer Opening
Simon Fraser University Department of Economics

The Department of Economics at Simon Fraser University seeks to make a continuing teaching faculty appointment at the rank of Senior Lecturer.

The expected starting date is September 1, 2018. Normally, faculty members holding a continuing teaching position will teach eight one-term courses across three terms annually. The teaching assignment will be based on the needs of the department and may include introductory, intermediate and/or advanced courses in macroeconomics and microeconomics along with undergraduate field courses.

The candidate must hold a PhD in economics or a closely related field by the employment start date and have significant teaching experience in post-secondary education. Strong evidence of teaching excellence is the primary criteria for this position.

Applications must include a CV and a teaching dossier which should include:

(1) a two-page summary which describes your contributions to and philosophy of
teaching including work done on curriculum development and pedagogical innovation;
(2) a one-page summary which describes the evidence related to the quality of
your teaching performance;
(3) the syllabi and final exams of the most recent courses taught (submitted as a single
pdf for up to eight courses); and
(4) teaching evaluations for the most recent courses taught, including both raw data and
summary statistics (submitted as a single pdf for up to eight courses).

You will also be asked to provide three letters of reference. Please note that these letters should explicitly address your teaching achievements and skills.
