The School of Professional Studies (SPS) at Columbia University invites applications for a full-time position at the rank of Associate Professor of Professional Practice or Professor of Professional Practice in the discipline of Sustainability Management. This position will begin on July 1, 2018. This is a full-time appointment with multi-year renewal contingent on successful review.

The successful candidate will teach courses in one or more of the following areas: Economics of Sustainability, Sustainable Investing, Green Accounting and/or Cost-benefit Analysis. The Sustainability Management program seeks an individual with a vibrant portfolio of academic study, experience and publications in the following disciplines: sustainability/environmental economics, sustainable finance, sustainability management, or a related field.

The successful candidate may be asked to serve in an administrative capacity for the MS program and its affiliated Certificate in Sustainable Finance. Responsibilities include leading programmatic and curricular development and evaluation efforts, professional development opportunities for students, and strategic planning for the program.

The ideal candidate will hold a doctoral degree in economics, finance, management or related fields in the discipline, with academic focus on sustainability and exhibit a commitment to excellence in teaching, mentoring, instructional design, and professional practice and/or scholarship.

Experience teaching sustainability-related courses in economics and finance in a graduate program is preferred. Experience as a practitioner in the field of Economics, Finance/Banking, or Sustainability Management is also preferred.

The rank of Associate Professor of Professional Practice is appropriate for individuals who have a demonstrated record of achievement in professional practice and teaching, and show great promise of attaining distinction in their field of specialization.
