Hitotsubashi University established the Hitotsubashi Institute for Advanced Study (HIAS) in 2014 with the aim of strengthening a worldwide research network of social sciences and serving as a hub of the research network.

We will have an opening in any field of economics for one Research Fellow who is expected to engage in research along this principle of the HIAS, actively interact with other Hitotsubashi faculty members and graduate students, and produce research output in the frontier of economics. Appointment will be for longer than 6 months and shorter than 1 year with no extension. The Research Fellow will be asked to teach one graduate course. Applicants should have a Ph.D. at the time of applying. The HIAS Research Fellow will be employed as a university contract faculty member under the university’s employment rules and regulations. Applications will be reviewed beginning March 26, 2018; all applications received by March 26 are fully reviewed although we continue to accept applications until April 30, 2018 in case the positions are not filled by the applicants of the first group.
