The Department of Applied Economics is seeking applicants for an Assistant Professor, Agricultural Economics/Agribusiness. This is an academic year, nine-month, tenure-track position available August 1, 2018. This position is 60% teaching, 35% research and 5% service.

Teaching responsibilities will be at both undergraduate and graduate levels and will include serving on graduate student committees. Teaching responsibilities may include both face-to-face and online courses. The successful candidate will develop a nationally recognized research program in agricultural economics. Research areas of emphasis may include, but are not limited to, agribusiness management/marketing, production economics, risk management, farm/ranch management, commodity marketing, price analysis, public land and agricultural water issues. Research areas related to agricultural issues in Utah and the surrounding region are preferred. The candidate will be expected to seek external funding to support his or her research.

Qualifications:
• A Ph.D. in agricultural economics, economics, or closely related field with expertise in a specialized field within agricultural economics must be completed before beginning employment.
• Evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with students required.
• Documented excellence in teaching is preferred.
