Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) invites applications for a number of positions as Assistant Professor. The positions involves both teaching and research.

Working Tasks:
The holder of the position is part of the discipline of Economics at JIBS. The position comprises education activities, including teaching at the Bachelor and Master level, research, and service to JIBS. Teaching is performed primarily in English, and distributed over the academic year.

All colleagues at JIBS are expected to do research, apply for external grants and contribute with new knowledge that strengthens JIBS' reputation in the focus areas (Entrepreneurship, Ownership and Renewal). All JIBS faculty members are expected to contribute to improve JIBS' footprint in the broader society.

JIBS has an international profile including a high share of students and faculty with an origin outside of Sweden. Our working language is English. Teaching and research are largely characterized by a team based approach.

Qualifications:
The following qualifications are mandatory for all applicants:

PhD in Economics.
Documented experience from teaching in economics amounting to at least one year of full-time teaching.
Pedagogical training or equivalent experience.
A professional command of written and spoken English and a proven ability to teach and examine courses in English.

The following are considered as merits for the position:

Excellence in teaching at the Bachelor and Master level.
Project leadership and collaboration in projects, including international research cooperation and interaction with business and society.
Documented experience of research grant applications.
Research portfolio and interest in JIBS focus areas Entrepreneurship, Ownership and Renewal.
Teaching experience in courses corresponding to JIBS teaching portfolio in Economics (e.g. micro-/ macroeconomics, econometrics and courses in our focus areas).

In the selection process, we will put emphasis on the person’s aptness to the organization, including communication skills, flexibility, and ability to collaborate with colleagues as well as work independently. This means that you should be willing and able to contribute to a dynamic academic environment, including being present at JIBS throughout the year.
