Analytics is a specialized, centralized, and cross-functional team that collaborates with product/engineering, growth, operations, and marketing to drive decision-making at Lyft. The team leads ambitious projects, interacts regularly with our executive team, and develops key strategic frameworks for all business areas.

We’re looking for experienced quantitative economists to join our team. You’ll be working on the most challenging technical problems in our on-demand logistics business. From predicting supply and demand to building statistical models for improving customer engagement to optimizing marketing channels, you’ll be responsible for generating insights that grow and shape core pieces of the Lyft experience for millions of users.

The ideal candidate is technically-minded, business-savvy, and exceptionally driven. If you’re sharp, highly analytical, resourceful, and can communicate complex ideas with ease, then we’d like to talk to you.

Responsibilities:

- Build statistical forecasting models and frameworks to support operations planning
- Optimize online marketing spend allocation for new customer acquisition
- Apply machine learning algorithms to predict customer lifetime value and churn
- Perform deep data explorations to uncover valuable customer insights
- Design and measure experiments to measure the impact of customer engagement strategies

Experience and Skills:

- M.S. or Ph.D. in economics, decision science, statistics, engineering, applied math, operations research, or a related quantitative field
- High degree of proficiency with SQL and solid experience working with large data sets
- Proficient with statistical packages in R, Python, and/or SAS
- Proficient in at least scripting language such as Python or Ruby
- Working experience with big data frameworks like Hadoop and Spark a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
