Position: Assistant Professor, Agricultural Economics
Tenure track, 9-month appointment

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Applied/Agricultural Economics or Economics, with strong quantitative skills. Outstanding oral and written communication skills are required. The successful candidate must be able to develop a nationally and internationally-recognized research program as evidenced by scholarly publications in peer-reviewed journals. A willingness and ability to make significant contributions to interdisciplinary research efforts is also preferred.

Job Description: This position has a 60 percent research appointment and a 40 percent teaching appointment. The incumbent will be expected to bring strong quantitative and econometric skills to bear on applied economic issues. Emphases in any of the following areas are highly sought: agricultural risk, consumer demand, food policy, health economics, or agribusiness (JEL Codes I and Q). Responsibilities include: (1) development of a nationally- and internationally-recognized research program, (2) providing high-quality undergraduate and/or graduate teaching and making significant contributions to the development and growth of undergraduate programs, (3) securing external research grants and contracts, (4) advising of undergraduate students, (5) direction of graduate student theses, and (6) development of interdisciplinary relationships with scientists in other departments.
