Asian Development Bank (ADB) is an international development finance institution headquartered in Manila, Philippines and is composed of 67 members, 48 of which are from the Asia and Pacific region. ADB’s mission is to reduce poverty and promote sustainable economic growth in the region. ADB’s main instruments for helping its developing member countries are policy dialogue, loans, equity investments, guarantees, grants, and technical assistance.

ADB only hires nationals of its 67 member countries.

The Economic Research and Regional Cooperation Department (ERCD), led by the Bank’s Chief Economist, is supporting the Bank’s mission through providing macroeconomic forecasts, producing statistical databases, undertaking country diagnostic studies and other analytical work, and fostering regional cooperation and integration.

During the AEA annual meeting, the Chief Economist and ADB’s hiring team will organize one-to-one interviews to provide the participants tailored career advice and information on current and future vacancies that match their skills and competencies. All interested candidates, whether junior, mid or senior level, are encouraged to submit their application. Interviews may also be used as first screening interview for positions in ERCD, including ADB’s Young Professionals Program.

Indicative Annual Entry Salary (determined according to the actual job level and candidate's experience):

Junior Economist - USD 85,000 to USD 100,000
Economist - USD 105,000 to USD 140,000
Senior Economist - USD 135,000 to USD 160,000
