Full Text of JOE Listing:

In the most recent Research Excellence Framework (REF2014), Surrey ranked in the top ten of the UK Economics departments in terms of quality of research output and the percentage of top quality (4*) papers; weighted by the percentage of staff submitted we ranked joint 6th.

The School now has six major research groups (Macro, Theory, Applied Micro, Econometrics, Energy Economics and Health Economics). Most of the groups run weekly workshops (in parallel with the weekly school seminar), where staff and doctoral students interact with speakers from the UK and abroad.

This year we are particularly interested in Applied Micro, Applied Macro, Development, Environmental and Finance candidates, but strong applications from other fields are also welcome. Candidates should hold a relevant PhD and have established a track record of publishing in top journals.

In return we offer a competitive remuneration package, which includes relocation assistance where appropriate, modern teaching facilities, and access to a variety of staff development opportunities.

Please submit a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, and research papers.

Informal enquires should be directed in the first instance to Professor Joao Santos Silva, Head of School, via email at jmcss@surrey.ac.uk containing "Surrey appointments 2017” in the subject line.
