The Economic Research Department is looking to hire a new or experienced Ph.D. economist with research interests in the economics of payments systems, industrial organization, network economics and/or applied microeconomics. Primary responsibilities include advising the Bank’s president and senior management on payments policy issues and presenting research findings in peer-reviewed journals and the Bank’s Economic Review. Economists will have access to excellent resources include a collaborative work environment, high-quality research assistants, cutting-edge computing support, and an on-site Federal Statistical Research Data Center. The Research Department also organizes active seminar, visiting scholar, and visiting co-author programs. The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City is an equal-opportunity employer.
