The Geneva School of Economics and Management (GSEM) at the University of Geneva has one vacant full-time academic position in the field of Finance with a preferred specialization in Corporate Finance or in Banking. We are looking for motivated candidates with an excellent or highly promising research record to join our inter-disciplinary finance research institute, the Geneva Finance Research Institute (GFRI: http://gfri.ch/).

For outstanding candidates the university position can be combined with a Junior or Senior Chair at the Swiss Finance Institute (SFI: http://sfi.ch/research/faculty).

Job Description:

Research
- As an internationally oriented scholar you conduct research in the field of Finance, preferably in the areas of corporate finance or banking, in close collaboration with colleagues at the GFRI at the Geneva School of Economics and Management.
- You publish in international top journals within the field, attract external research funding, develop international research projects, and advise doctoral students. You strive for excellence in research and as such contribute to the reputation of the GFRI.
Teaching
- You teach courses in one or more domains in Finance (Corporate Finance, Valuation, Investments, Banking).
- You contribute to the development of the corporate finance curriculum at the Geneva School of Economics and Management at the bachelor, master level.
- If you qualify for an SFI chaired position you may contribute to the SFI PhD program in finance (http://sfi.ch/phd-program/campuses).

Job Qualifications:
- You have earned a PhD in Finance or in a related field in a recognized university.
- The quality of your research should be demonstrated by publications in top international peer-reviewed journals. Junior applicants (pre-tenure) can demonstrate research excellence with promising research projects, papers and academic references.
- You can demonstrate strong didactical skills and you preferably have already a teaching experience in the field of Finance.
- You are proficient in English. The official administrative language used at the University of Geneva is French. The bachelor program at GSEM is bilingual (English and French) and graduate level courses are taught in English.
