The Department of Economics at CIDE seeks applications to fill several tenure-track positions at its campus in Mexico City starting August 2018. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in economics or applied economics from an accredited institution by August 2018. Candidates are expected to provide evidence of potential to develop an outstanding record of scholarly research. One position is for a candidate with teaching and research interests in macroeconomics (including macroeconometrics). A second position is for a candidate with interests in microeconomic theory. For a third position we are particularly interested in candidates working in behavioral economics, development economics, industrial organization or public finance.

The Department offers undergraduate and MSc programs in economics. Expected teaching load is two courses per year.

Knowledge of Spanish is not required, but we expect successful applicants to be able to teach in Spanish within two years following the appointment.

Candidates should include in their cover letter a brief statement of why they are interested in joining the faculty at CIDE. Candidates that do not include this statement will not be considered. Applications should be submitted via the JOE network
