Position: Peter L. Dyson Professorship of Ethics in Organizations and Life; tenure-track, open rank

Anticipated start date: July 1, 2018

Responsibilities: This is a tenure-track position at an open rank professorial level, in the broad area of ethics and business. The Peter L. Dyson Professor will be expected to engage in a rigorous program of research and teaching in the Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management, which is part of the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business (JCB) and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS). This position will work with faculty and students across the three schools of JCB (Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management, Johnson Graduate School of Management., and School of Hotel Administration), and CALS. The incumbent's research will address contemporary issues in ethics and business including, for example, corporate social responsibility, sustainability, financial markets, business law, leadership, corporate strategy, strategic management, behavioral ethics, and ethical issues in organizations of all types, especially business ethics as they apply to customers, employees, suppliers and obligations to the broader community. The teaching program could include, for example, courses in the economics of sustainability, ethical behavior in business, foundations in business law and legal studies, ethics and biotechnology, ethics on Wall Street, ethical or values-based leadership, ethical decision making, power and politics in organizations and behavioral ethics.

Qualifications: A Ph.D. in applied economics, economics, management, organizational behavior, philosophy, law, or a related social science discipline or a related field.
