The Department of Economics at Appalachian State University invites applications for two tenure-track positions at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level to begin Fall 2018. The department seeks candidates that have or will develop a distinguished research program in any area of economics, but preference for one position will be given to candidates that can contribute to the department’s strength in experimental and/or environmental economics. The appointees are expected to maintain an active research agenda leading to publications in quality peer-reviewed journals, to provide quality instruction, and to participate in service activities. Candidates who are ABD will be considered, but a Ph.D. in economics is required by August 2018.

Appalachian State University is a member institution of the sixteen-campus University of North Carolina. Located in Boone, North Carolina, the university has approximately 18,000 students, primarily in bachelors and masters programs in both liberal arts and applied fields. The Department of Economics is intellectually vibrant and values excellence in both research and teaching.
