The Economics Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz invites applications for an Assistant Professor tenure-track position in International Trade and Applied Microeconomics (#JPF00466-18). The emphasis is in international trade and applied microeconomics with possible overlap with development, labor, immigration, industrial organization, and other fields in applied microeconomics. Possible related areas of teaching might include introductory, intermediate, and graduate levels of international trade, econometrics, and topics in applied microeconomics.

The Economics Department has a Ph.D. program, a professional Master’s program, and several undergraduate programs. Applicants will be expected to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate level; advise and mentor graduate and undergraduate students; contribute to graduate education, the research environment of the department, and to university and professional service.

The selected candidate must be able to work with students, faculty, and staff from a wide range of social and cultural backgrounds. We welcome candidates who understand the barriers facing women and minorities who are underrepresented in higher education careers, and who have experience in equity and diversity with respect to teaching, mentoring, research, life experiences, or service towards building an equitable and diverse scholarly environment.
