The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business at Cornell University invites applications from qualified individuals for a tenure-track faculty position in Strategy and Business Economics (SBE) at the assistant professor level, beginning July 2018. The position is in the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management and is a part of a broader search for SBE faculty within the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate is expected to: (i) establish a distinguished program of SBE research (50%), (ii) engage in teaching and advising in the undergraduate, masters, and Ph.D. levels (50%), as well as (iii) provide service to the School, Area, College and the University. The successful candidate is expected to develop a highly impactful program of research relevant to broad societal, economic and business issues and to communicate results to public audiences and practitioners as well as academic peers through publications in top field and general management and economics journals. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research builds on a solid theoretical foundation and utilizes rigorous empirical methods, and who complement and extend existing areas of specialization among the Dyson School SBE faculty, including innovation, entrepreneurship, international, development, environmental, and organizational strategy.

Opportunities: The Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management is one of the three schools under the newly established SC Johnson College of Business. The school houses a top-ranked undergraduate business program as well as graduate programs that award Ph.D., M.S. and M.P.S. degrees in applied economics. Areas of faculty expertise include management; environmental, energy and resource economics; food and agricultural economics; and international and development economics. Interdisciplinary collaboration is embraced by faculty members and supported by various programs on campus such as the Institute for Social Sciences and the Atkinson Center for a Sustainable Future. Faculty members in the Dyson School frequently collaborate with colleagues in Computer and Information Sciences, Economics, Engineering, Natural Resources, the New York City Tech campus, and other units on campus.

Job Qualifications: A Ph.D. in applied economics, business, economics, or a related discipline is required. Preferred candidates will demonstrate strong potential for high standards of accomplishment in strategy and business economics research, teaching, and service.

Salary: Competitive with peer institutions and commensurate with qualifications and experience. An attractive fringe benefit package is included.
