The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business at Cornell University invites applications from qualified individuals for a tenure-track faculty position for an economist in strategy and business economics, beginning July 2018. Rank is at the assistant professor level; salary and rank are commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The position is located in the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management (JGSM) and is a part of a broader search for strategy and business economics faculty within the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business. JGSM offers MPS, MBA, Accelerated MBA, Executive MBA, and Ph.D. programs. Other units in the College include the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management (a top-ranked undergraduate business and graduate applied economics program) and the School of Hotel Administration (the world's premier School in hospitality management).

Responsibilities: (1) high-quality academic research to be placed in leading economics journals, and preferably of an applied nature (either theoretical or empirical) such as in industrial organization or the economics of organizations; (2)
teaching graduate students (including MBA students) and possibly undergraduate students, including a course in MBA-level Business Strategy; and (3) service to the School, College and University.

Job Qualifications: Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Economics by the time they start in the position. They must also provide three (3) letters of recommendation. Preferred candidates will demonstrate high standards of accomplishment in economics research, teaching, and service, complementing and extending the strengths of the College of Business's current faculty and its vital and collegial community of scholars and practitioners.
