Full Text of JOE Listing:

The Department of Economics in the College of Business Administration at the University of Central Florida invites applications for up to three positions at the ranks of either Assistant or Associate Professor. The positions have been created as a result of a recent strategic hiring initiative by the College: Each person selected will be a vital member of a new master’s-level business analytics program. The start date of each position is August 2018. Applicants for this position will also be considered for position numbers 38107 and 38363.

Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. from a regionally- or nationally-accredited institution of higher education in Economics, or a related discipline such as Computer Science or Statistics, by the start date; graduate coursework in Econometrics is a must, while that in applied microeconomics in general and industrial organization in particular is preferred.

A record of success in teaching Business Analytics and/or related courses is preferred as is demonstrated versatility in teaching Business Analytic applications across different business areas—for example, Marketing, Management, and Finance, as well as Sport Business.

Experience in the application of Business Analytics through some combination of consulting, professional time in business or government and/or similar meaningful activities is desirable.

At the Associate Professor rank, candidates must have a record of research productivity and teaching competence commensurate with UCF’s expectations for tenure.

Consideration of applicants will begin immediately. Applications will be accepted until the position is closed. Please contact Professor Harry J. Paarsch (Harry.Paarsch@ucf.edu) if you have questions about the program in general or Professor Mark Dickie (MDickie@ucf.edu) if you have questions about the positions in particular.

Most interviews will be conducted in Philadelphia at the ASSA meetings in early January 2018, but others may be held via Skype under some circumstances.

As an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer, UCF encourages all qualified applicants to apply, including women, veterans, individuals with disabilities, and members of traditionally underrepresented populations. UCF’s Equal Opportunity Statement can be viewed at: http://eeo.ucf.edu/documents/PresidentsStatement.pdf. As a Florida public university, UCF makes all application materials and selection procedures available to the public upon request.
