The Faculty of Political Science and Economics (FPSE) at Waseda University invites applications for five tenure-track or tenured positions (Associate Professor or Professor), with an expected (but negotiable) starting date of April 1 or September 1 in 2018. We seek candidates with a focus in the field of empirical economics, with a particular interest in public finance, industrial organization, labor, education, and social welfare and social security. We also welcome applications from scholars in other areas of empirical economics including but not limited to environmental economics, health economics, development economics, international economics, and big data analysis.

Candidates will be evaluated based on the quality of their research, research potential, and teaching experience or potential. The successful candidates will be expected to conduct research, teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, supervise students, and perform service to the FPSE. The candidates must have completed the Ph.D. by the appointment date. Proficiency in Japanese is preferred but not required.
