The National Association of Home Builders is seeking an experienced AVP of Forecasting and Analysis who will serve as a resource for NAHB’s Chief Economist, members, committees, councils, state and local associations, internal clients and the general public, in areas involving forecasting, economic and housing market analysis, and statistics. The economist will be responsible for establishing and directing economic forecasting, conducting housing market analyses, and communicating results through verbal and written means. The economist will also monitor developments in markets affecting building materials and construction labor and monitor developments in markets related to building, including financial markets.

Candidates should be able to manage all technical research activities and communicate technical issues to non-technical audiences. Candidates should have knowledge of forecasting and economic analysis, including macroeconomic theory, econometric methods, computer applications related to statistical analysis, and database management. Candidates should also have familiarity with the structure and functions of regional housing markets. Excellent communication skills, and demonstrated analytical skills are a must.

A minimum of five years of progressive forecasting and analysis experience and two years of supervisory and/or project management experience is required. A Ph.D. in economics or statistics, or the equivalent in education and experience, is also required.
