Musashi University, Tokyo, Japan invites applications for a tenured position in Macroeconomics beginning April 1, 2018. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses and contribute to administrative duties. Priority is given to candidates who have completed their Ph.D. or will acquire it within a year after the time of appointment. Candidates must be fluent in Japanese and preferred to be so in English too. Candidates from the field of Applied Macroeconomics will be considered and those with teaching experience and a good research record/potential are highly encouraged to apply.

Job description:
- Teaching: The candidate is responsible to teach courses in Japanese (such as Macroeconomics, Econometrics, and other related courses depending on applicant's expertises). Depending on our curriculum needs, he or she may teach courses in English. Teaching load is 10 course credits (equivalent to 3 courses in the U.S.) per semester.

- Research: Conduct research on own initiative. The university provides basic research facilities, e.g. work office and library access, as well as generous research fund (JPY 400,000 per year).
- Service: The candidate is expected to participate in administration and development activities, as well as other teaching related general services.

2. Curriculum vita including "list of research papers", "other research activities and accomplishments", and "teaching experience".
3. PDF files of three research papers.
4. A sample syllabus for Macroeconomics (Please note that our university employs a semester system whereby each semester has 15 weeks. That is, we have 15 ninety-minute classes per a standard two-credit course in a semester.)
5. Two confidential letters of recommendation for the candidate (need to be sent directly from the referees by e-mail)

The selection committee screen applicants based on the documents submitted sent by applicants and the final selection will be made after an interview session that will include a teaching demonstration and/or job talk. If the candidate lives outside Japan, the interview will be conducted by Skype.
