The Fayetteville State University (FSU) School of Business and Economics is seeking an outstanding scholar and teacher with a distinguished record in the study of economics and entrepreneurship to serve as the Lloyd V. Hackley Endowed Chair for the Study of Capitalism and Free Enterprise, beginning Fall, 2017.
Specific responsibilities will be dependent upon School priorities and the individual hired, but the successful candidate should be able to:
• Design and teach a course on the history, philosophy and theory of the free enterprise system (including online)
• Publish research on topics related to entrepreneurship and free enterprise;
• Study related public policy issues and write position papers and public service articles;
• Conduct outreach programs to promote an understanding of, and appreciation for, entrepreneurship and free enterprise;
• Teach 3-6 credit hours per semester;
• Work with undergraduate/graduate students for professional development.
FSU is a constituent of the University of North Carolina system, and is a very diverse institution. The School of Business and Economics (SBE) serves approximately 750 students and is accredited by AACSB International.
