The Department of Economics is seeking candidates for a visiting professor position during the 2017-2018 academic year (the length of the contract is negotiable up to 4 years). All candidates should be prepared to teach principles and statistics courses with the potential for teaching an elective in the Winter Term. Evidence of teaching effectiveness is highly desirable. The Fall and Winter terms are both 12-week terms; the Fall term begins early September and ends before Christmas. Winter term begins mid-January and concludes mid-April. Strong candidates will have completed their doctorate by the time of employment.

Washington and Lee University is a highly-selective liberal arts college of 1800 undergraduates located in the Great Valley of Virginia. The Department of Economics, housed in the Williams School of Commerce, Economics and Politics, has a staff of 15 Ph.D. economists.
