The Division of Finance and Economics, housed in Marshall University’s AACSB-accredited Lewis College of Business (LCOB) invites application for a tenure-track position in the general area of microeconomics at the Assistant / Associate Professor level beginning Fall 2017.

The standard teaching load is three courses per semester. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to undergraduate economics and graduate microeconomics courses. Travel between the Huntington and Charleston campus is expected. We seek a candidate whose primary teaching and research interests are in the areas of health economics, public finance, applied econometrics and urban/regional economics. Other areas of interest are labor economics, environmental economics and industrial organization.

The candidate will also be dedicated to quality research consistent with the mission of the LCOB and contribute to service at the university, college, division and community levels. Successful applicants will be expected to contribute to the university’s general education curriculum with its emphasis on a common First Year Seminar and core courses intended to enhance student’s critical thinking skills. Additionally, candidates should be willing to participate in interdisciplinary programs of study within the College of Business (e.g., the aforementioned health economics.)
