Full Text of JOE Listing:

The Research Fellow will work as a member of the Melbourne Institute's Health Economics Research Program. Funding is received from competitive ARC and NHMRC grants and contract research from government and health care organisations that is complementary to the research interests of team members. The team's research covers the financing and organisation of health care, including incentives and behaviour of physicians and health care organisations, health insurance, competition in health care markets, and the social and economic determinants of health.

The Melbourne Institute hosts the NHMRC Centre for Research Excellence in Medical Workforce Dynamics which runs the Medicine in Employment: Balancing Employment and Life (MABEL) panel survey of 10,000 doctors.
Health and Wellbeing is a major research strength of the Faculty of Business and Economics.

We are leading one of three research themes within a new NHMRC Partnership Centre in Health System Sustainability. Our involvement will focus on the role of incentives and competition in promoting value-based healthcare, and there is funding for more than one position.
