GMO is a global investment management firm headquartered in Boston. We manage roughly $88 billion in client assets using a combination of top-down and bottom-up approaches that blend traditional fundamental insights with innovative quantitative methods to identify undervalued asset classes and securities.

Position Overview:
The successful candidate, as part of the Quantitative Research Team within our Global Equity group, will conduct quantitative and data driven research on the global equity markets.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop models and frameworks for understanding the drivers of returns and associated risks in the global equity markets.
• Enhance both our bottom-up and top-down valuation models used for identifying investment opportunities.
• Collaborate with members of our Asset Allocation and Fixed Income groups to improve our understanding of the global cross-asset opportunity set.

Requirements:
• MA/MS required, PhD preferred, in Finance, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Financial Engineering or other relevant quantitative discipline
• Proven, effective verbal and written communication skills
• Programming proficiency in MATLAB and familiarity with SQL databases
• Expertise in asset pricing models is a plus; experience conducting research on large datasets
• Strong ethical values and the ability to work independently or as a part of a team are essential
