Full Text of JOE Listing:

We seek a highly-skilled R programmer with substantial statistics training to assist in the development of the DeclareDesign suite of software tools (declaredesign.org).

DeclareDesign is statistical software that enables researchers to declare complete research designs easily, to diagnose the statistical properties of designs, to assess the gains from possible design improvements, and to explore potential analysis strategies before data are collected. The tools will also enable peer reviewers and third parties to grasp the central design features of a study quickly, and to assess its probative value for the research question at hand.

The hired individual will develop the R implementation of DeclareDesign, an alpha version of which is available, and the Web-based implementation using the Shiny web application framework.

The position is for a two-year term, though it may be extended contingent on funding. For the right candidate who holds or is about to hold a Ph.D., this position may be set up as a postdoctoral fellowship. Physical presence in or a willingness to relocate to Los Angeles is strongly preferred.

Applications are evaluated on a rolling basis. For full consideration, apply by December 31, 2016.
