The Nuffield College Centre for Experimental Social Sciences (CESS) seeks to appoint a CESS/FLAME Postdoctoral Research Officer for a fixed period of 3 years. The person appointed will be responsible for coordinating activities related to the Nuffield CESS collaboration with FLAME University in Pune, India; s/he will be based in the Nuffield CESS at Oxford, though occasional short-term visits to India may be necessary as part of the role.

The main duties of the CESS/FLAME Research Officer include: overseeing the operations of the experimental lab in CESS India; assisting with the design of experimental projects in India and South East Asia and with the coordination and execution of experiments in CESS India; carrying out associated administrative responsibilities for the CESS India activities; delivering and assisting with the organization of CESS courses, summer schools, workshops and other instructional activities; teaching one course for FLAME University; and assisting the CESS Director with some of the management activities associated with CESS India. In addition the CESS/FLAME Research Officer will be expected to engage in independent scholarly research and to take part in the intellectual life of the Nuffield CESS and CESS/FLAME.

The salary offered is £34,767 p.a. - £36,346 p.a. (Research Officer Scale). The post is full-time and fixed term for 3 years, with an initial probationary period of six months and is available from January 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter.
