Pembroke College, Oxford, wishes to appoint a Rokos Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in Development Economics from 1 September 2017 for three years. While the field of study is open, preference will be given to candidates specialising in microeconomics of development, particularly on sub-Saharan Africa.

Applicants should either have completed their PhD or be close to completion (and will need to have submitted their doctorate before taking up the Fellowship) and preference will be given to applicants who have not already held a postdoctoral Fellowship, JRF or tenured academic post. The successful candidates will be expected to conduct original research in their chosen field and will enjoy the freedom and facilities to develop a research portfolio, so strengthening their position in the academic job market. They will also be expected to contribute to the development of Economics and the interests of Economics students at Pembroke College. Optionally, and by agreement with the Fellow in Economics, they may provide undergraduate teaching, participate in admissions and supervise undergraduate dissertations.
