The University of Cologne is among the leading German research universities and its Faculty of Management, Economics, and Social Sciences is consistently ranked among the top schools in research and teaching. The Economics and Statistics group is composed of over 30 professors and over 80 researchers.

The research focus of candidates should be in Microeconomics, including fields such as Market Design, Industrial Organization, or Behavioral Economics. The successful candidate will be part of the “Excellence Center for Social and Economic Behavior (C-SEB)”. A substantial track record of research published in leading journals and an active research program are expected. International experience, such as a Ph.D. from a leading international university or other long-term international teaching or research experience is highly appreciated. Candidates are expected to integrate their work into the collaborative research environment of the faculty.

Successful applicants are expected to demonstrate excellent teaching skills and to contribute actively to the ongoing development of the faculty’s teaching program. Willingness to teach in English (MSc level) and perspectively in German (BSc level) is expected.

The position is available as of April 2017 or based on mutual agreement.
