The Risk and Policy Analysis (RPA) Unit at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston is seeking an economist or senior economist specializing in banking, financial intermediation, or financial stability. Demonstrated empirical ability is highly valued. Primary responsibilities of the economists’ team in RPA include producing high-quality research for publication in academic journals, advising senior management on policy issues related to financial stability and the regulation of financial institutions and financial markets, and participating in supervision of large financial institutions. The position involves some travel.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in economics, finance, or related field; demonstrated research capability; and excellent written and oral communication skills. Senior-level candidates should have an established research record as demonstrated by publications in peer-reviewed journals and/or a significant amount of relevant policy making experience. Salary and level of position will be commensurate with background and experience.
